Theater`s positive influence can help in forming children`s and young people`s spiritual values, their artistic perception and understanding, show them ways to spend their leisure time, and teach them how to solve social problems. Therefore, the most important aspect of Lithuanian ASSITEJ`s mission is to enrich and develop children`s and young people`s spiritual world with the help of theater art, and to introduce professional children`s and youth theater performances to the worldwide theater community.
GOALS
- To make Children`s and youth theater a priority of State cultural policy;
- To gather professional Children`s and youth theater artists to work on high quality, up-to-date, mobile performances for youth.
- To ensure that children in the most remote towns of the country get a chance to see a professional theatre performance at least once a year;
- To help Children`s and Youth theatre artists present their work to public audiences by advertising them through various media channels, introducing them to the international community by organizing festivals, seminars, and laboratories;
- To give an opportunity to Lithuanian theatre artists to get introduced to the newest international performances, work methodology, and accomplishments;
- To develop and train national dramaturgy, and young artists.
To support its mission and vision, Lithuanian ASSITEJ organizes seminars, workshops, theater laboratories, and other events.
