The Theatre Lovers Club was established on November 2005 by initiative and attempts of the State Educational Institution “The Third Bell” in the State Youth Theatre. The founders of this club are schoolchildren of the gymnasiums “Žirmūnai”, “S. Stanevičius” and “Jėzuitai”. About 60 members are registered at the club at the moment.
During the period of the activity of the Club the theatre lovers attend actively in the theatre life: constantly arrange meetings with the theatre directors and actors, watch rehearsals, discuss about performances and recommend to see them to their friends, organize theatre festivals, which are gladly visited even by theatre professionals. Theatre lovers have already become members of the theatre family. The actors, directors and theatre’s employees really enjoy about their participation in the theatre life.
Last year the members of the Theatre Lovers Club arranged a nice action “Let`s embrace the theatre together”. During this action within two months the theatre lovers brought to the theatre more then 100 their friends, who have never been there before.
Perfect creative experience the members of the Theatre Lovers Club have got by participating in the three days seminar – workshop headed by distinguished Sweden theatre educator Mathias Johansson invited by the Sweden Embassy. Also very useful and interesting experience for the theatre lovers was their participation in a creation and production of the performance – play by Salomėja Neris “Grandmother’s story” (director Saulė Degutytė). Their assistance was very helpful during the II International Assitej Festival arranged on May 2006 in Klaipėda.
The members of the Theatre Lovers Club organize and celebrate not only the World Theatre Day for Children and Young People – on the 20th of March, but also the International Children Protection Day – on the 1st of June.
To commemorate the International Children Protection Day this year (2007) the theatre lovers created and performed the performances in Vilnius State Puppet theatre.
